Card Technique Class with Debi

You will learn the following 3 techniques:

Chalkboard Stamping: Create the look of a chalkboard image with stamping.

Bokeh: Use this photography effect as inspiration for a project.

Negative Die-Cuts: Take various Dies and use the negate die-cuts to create something special.

Chest of Drawers Class

You will make this really neat box full of functional drawers on all sides.  This will be a fun conversation piece that will add wow factor to any room.  Impress your fellow crafty friends with this elaborate project they are sure to love.

Summer Is Just Around The Corner

It is that time of year to get ready for graduations, weddings, and other summer activities.  We have a ever growing selection of words and images for graduation including: Pahoa Daggers, Hilo High Vikings, Waiakea Warriors, Kamehameha Warriors, and more!

March of Dimes March for Babies

Thank you to those who supported me and my OB unit in supporting this very good cause.  Your donation helped us in not only reaching our unit goal, but surpassing it.  Several OB staff turned out to support the cause.  Our OB unit raised over $1300 which surpassed our goal of $800.  There were over 600 people who walked and many more behind the scenes to make this a successful event.  Again, thank you you so much for your donation towards such an important cause.  The walk was a lot of fun and it felt good to participate in this activity with my fellow nurses.

Copic Coloring Class

Join Jenny in learning to use the ever popular Copic Markers.  This is an introduction coloring class.  Jenny will tell you she is not (officially) Copic Certified, but her former students and I can vouch for her and say that she is a very resourceful learner and has years experience using Copic Markers.  in this class she will introduce you to Copic Markers and teach you some valuable tips and resources about coloring that you will find helpful to you in all your Copic coloring projects.

Successful Spring Clean Sale!

Thank you to all who attended our Spring Clean Sale event.  There was a very good turn out and we moved a record amount of items for our customers.  It is exciting to see craft items get into the hands of someone new and excited at the chance to use their craft finds.  We wish to express an extra special  thank you to those who also took the time to shop the in store specials too.  As always we appreciate your patronage.

March Of Dimes March for Babies

I am honored to be walking with my OB unit coworkers to support the March of Dimes March for babies event on Saturday, April 27th. We will be walking 2.5 miles at Wailoa State Park.  Please help if you can by pledging/donating to support a very worthy cause. The money raised goes to support programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full term babies, as well as fund research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies.  Inquire within Island Scrapbooking for more details or to make a pledge/donation.

Shabby Chic Camera

Join Jenny in making this over the top Camera with a Shabby Chic flare.  The detail is what makes this project so eye catching.  Can you get a look inside the Camera lens? I just love how she made it into a shadow box!  Neat Yeah? This project also pulls apart to reveal a hidden box.

New Arrivals!

We are so excited.  The last couple of days have been about getting the new arrivals in the computer and on the shelves!  Sizzix has arrived.  All you Tim Holtz fans... the gears are here!  As well as the Hardware Findings!!!  I can not wait to use these dies with the grunge board.

Also, we have all been awaiting the new Lawn Fawn order.  They are just so cute.  The ever popular Good Fortune will fly off the shelf.  You should be able to pick that one of the crowd of new stamps pictured below.  Do you see that...?  You  do not have to cut them out by hand!  They now have their own dies for some of their stamps.  Come in and check them out.

  










Look what's coming next! We have the sneak peek of Sister Stamps 12th Release! I know what Stamp I will be using for Boys Day. Pre-pay for your stamps now through March 9, 2013 and you will receive 10% off your stamps. These stamps are due to be released on April 1, 2013.












We also received a small Dandelion Stamps order as well.  A lot of you were interested in there new stamps, so we brought them in as well as a couple of our favorites.

Happy Valentine's Day

Is everyone enjoying their Valentine's Day?  We hope you are!  

We did receive an order from Hero Arts that is just perfect for today or any "LOVE" card or scrapbook page you want to create. I love hearts because they can be used for any occasion. There is also great new Hero Arts Fancy Dies that are a must see.  Check them out in the picture below.

I can't wait to play with that butterfly.  I love the detail and the  Art of the Card Stamps from Hero Arts are always my go to stamps.  They are really easy to use with the Distress Inks and Stains!  Those tags you see have matching dies. They are the perfect size to hang off of small gifts and treat bags.

So much to come and look at.  The ideas are always endless.

Also, the Class scheduled for Saturday with Tracy is full and she is offering to have the class again on Saturday, February 23rd 10:30 - 12:30.  The class will show you the techniques used to make these cards (shown below).  We will be using Spellbinders, Distress Inks, and embossing powders.  It's a lot of fun.  Call the shop to reserve your seat!

We are still awaiting a couple of orders. Life Style Crafts is due in any day.  Watch for their wonderful new dies and embossing folders. Also,coming soon is new Lawn Fawn and Sizzix!
